Strongsville police investigate meth lab found in city
Posted by jkuehner January 19, 2008 23:38PM
Strongsville police thought they were headed to a family fight Saturday, but discovered what appeared to be a meth lab instead.
Officers made the people who lived in the home leave for their own safety and called federal drug agents to help investigate.
No one has been charged and the investigation continues.
The house on White Bark Drive off near Prospect Road does not pose a danger to nearby residents, a police press release said.
Methamphetamine in recent years has been the fastest growing street drug in Ohio. Drug agents seized 444 labs in Ohio during fiscal 2005.
In 2006, that number dropped sharply after drug stores began locking away cold medications -- one of the key ingredients for making meth. Officers seized 243 labs during fiscal 2006.

Lets see what kind of photo op the strongsville police make out of this, they will act like there superior investigative powers found the lab.when they really found it the ole BARNEY FIFE way It,ll be like the old days when elliot ness or j.edgar would be on the on the front page with axe in hand chopping up some still they just found, when we all know that 99% of police work is paying a snitch, the other 1% is the BARNEY FIFE way L.M.F.A.O.

I hear you about Snitches, but is it someone doing there civic duty to report this , if you see a killing and someone is murdered and you report it. are you a snitch?, People snitch on all the violent crimes you can, and be a snitch, drugs in my neighborhood, you are going to jail, are people afraid of idiots out there or afraid to be called a snitch? probably both, police are not castopol, if they were I would have a problem with that, they rely on the community to be involved if you don't then we become victims to quickly and end up like the ghetto's that you complain about

if this were in cleveland everyone in the house would be in jail right now. their pictures would be all over the paper, the mayor would have made a statement about his new anti-meth initiative and there would be 50+ comments here as opposed to 10. hmmm... wonder why?

I'm surprised that people are surprised about a meth lab in Strongsville. Strongsville has had a meth-head contingent for a while now..a small one, but it's there. There are few meth labs in places like the East Side of Cleveland. You're more likely to see meth users in places like Lakewood (sad to say) and even Strongsville than you are somewhere like Hough or Mt. Pleasant.
R139, you shouldn't be surprised..not at all. I can't think of a single West Side suburb that doesn't have at least a small (and probably growing) meth-head population...Bay Village, maybe?
Cretin216, the RTA has been going to Strongsville for years, sorry to burst your bubble.

candor40, drugs are not a victimless crime. The addiction causes them to lose everything then they turn to crime so they can afford the drugs. They will do anything to get high again...even if that means stealing or killing.
Be a snitch, a Barney Fife or whatever you want to call it. There is no shame in exposing criminals. It's easy to commit crimes...anyone can do it. Instead, try playing by the rules for a change and watch some addict take it all away from you in an instant because they just want to feel good again.

You're right, Lakewood216, there is tremendous opportunity in Lakewood for Meth-Labs. This might be a good way to utilize some of those dumpy rental properties. Does section8 provide money for lab equipment?

I am sorry I did not spell it right, Solarsun thank you for the right spelling, your right , I did type to fast , but drugs is not a victimless crime, I never heard the term , some people do not realize that drug activity is from the suburbs as well, if you read the news in the last few months they are making the drugs outside of cleveland then they employ young kids to sell it inside of Cleveland, you will not see kids standing outside in the suburbs selling it, in Cleveland it is a normal thing, this is old news. but your comments do worry me

Scrivo, the reason people steal and kill to get meth is due to artificial scarcity and high prices caused by prohibition. You don't see people kill to obtain tobacco or alcohol.

Speaking of stupidity. Some of the comments here are some of the most ignorant I have ever heard. A ton of stuff happens in the suburbs that people NEVER hear about, and NEVER will. It is called need to know basis. Meth labs are all over the place, so are drug dealers, and other scurges of society. Living in the burbs doesn't exempt you from anything. Get off your "victimless crime" , single, needs to grow up ass, and wake up ! How about the drunk who beats his kids, and wife on a regular basis. The junkie who would rather get high than feed his kids. " Victimless crime." Gimme a break. You need to lay off the pipe.
